À propos de la recette
Have you been wanting to delve into the realm of collagen.. and just haven't had the courage to try another health snack that.. well.. may just taste terrible!? Don't worry I've done the testing for you. I've been loading up on Vitamin C this past (Australian) winter with 1000% the Vitamin C RDI, as it is great for your skin/nails, enhances iron absorption, and boosts your immunity. So far, it's proven to be a wise addition to my morning routine. Recently, I have also started supplementing my drinks with gelatin (a pure source of collagen), which is a protein, found in every tissue in the body, and some studies suggest it may help heal 'leaky gut'. There is also a lot of research around its use and protein-building in elite athletes. Unfortunately, as gelatin sources (commonly) originate from beef bones, it can give off a funky taste/smell when combined in drinks. So I thought, why not combine the benefits of Vitamin C and gelatin into 1 snack.. while hopefully mitigating the unfortunate after-taste of collagen with Vitamin C powder ..and I believe I have achieved just that. I hope you enjoy the benefits, as well as the taste of this ridiculously simple recipe. ps I originally tested this receipe with peanut butter and coconut cream (an interesting flavour, but if people are interested, I can post this receipe, as well).

Ingrédients
3 Ingredients (that's it).
'Raw' Vitamin C Powder
'NutraOrganics' Unflavoured Natural Gelatin
Water
Préparation
Easy as 1, 2, 3 ...4.
Step 1 - In a medium-sized bowl, mix 1/4 cup of collagen powder with 2 tbsp of water to 'bloom' the collagen (think of this similar to proofing dough for bread), until turns into little clumps of gelatin beads.
Step 2 - Then, add 250mL of hot water to the bloomed gelatin (in the same bowl), and stir until all the gelatin is melted.
Step 3 - Add 2 tbsp of Vitamin C powder to the hot water-collagen bowl and stir again, until completely mixed.
Step 4 - Pour the collagen-vitamin C mix into silicon molds, and set in the fridge for 2 hours. When set, can pop out of molds, cut, and eat as morning gummie vitamins!
